KIDDERMINSTER music legend Robert Plant is going viral on YouTube for his ‘amazing’ live performance of a Led Zeppelin classic.
Plant, who grew up in Kidderminster, treated audiences to a performance of Led Zeppelin’s classic ‘Ramble On’ on the hit United States talk show ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ last week.
The performance alongside his band Saving Grace was posted on the show’s YouTube page and has since amassed 1.1million views.
Audiences were full of praise for Plant, taking to the comments of the YouTube video.
One said: “I was in the audience the night he performed this- I couldn’t believe how lucky I was.”
Another added: “That was amazing, I really didn’t expect him to sound this immaculate.”
And one lifelong Led Zeppelin fan admitted he was in tears watching Plant perform, adding he sounded ‘better than ever.’
Colbert also posted his interview with Plant, aged 77, which has gained another 96,000 views, during which the Led Zeppelin singer, Plant, expressed his love for folk music and the way music varies from area to area.
Although born in West Bromwich, Plant grew up in the Kidderminster area and attended King Charles I School.
‘Ramble On’ was first released in 1969 on the Led Zeppelin II album, and in 2010, it was ranked at 440 in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
