TWO Kidderminster women are competing in a year-long charity showdown to raise vital cash for local good causes.

As part of the challenge, Bex Fielding completed a remarkable 100-mile walking challenge throughout March, raising £105 for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Meanwhile, Mollie Mills took on a 50-mile running challenge during February, raising £365 for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Bex said: “It was a tough challenge at times, but knowing it was all for such a worthwhile cause kept me going.

“Acorns does incredible work for families, and I’m really proud to have played a small part in supporting them.’

Molly added: “I wanted to do something that would push me personally.

“While also raising money for such an important cause.

“Completing 50 miles was definitely a challenge, but knowing it would make a difference kept me motivated throughout.”

Both Bex and Mollie work for local branches of Specsavers and have been cheered on and supported by their colleagues.

All staff members across the Specsavers stores in Kidderminster, Kidderminster Crossley, Stourport-on-Severn and Droitwich Spa have been taking part in the charity showdown.

The fundraising efforts continued over the Easter weekend with a hamper raffle in support of Acorns.

Meanwhile, Mollie and her team will also be taking part in ‘Pyjamas for PanCan’ on April 24 for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
