TWO MAJOR milestones have been reached in the multi-million pound project to regenerate Kidderminster’s Brinton Park.
New bicycle storage units have been added in an attempt to make cycling in the popular park easier for visitors.
New benches have also been installed around the park’s new ornamental pool.
A spokesperson for the park said: “Visitors will soon be able to sit back, relax, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the ornamental pool from the new benches recently installed around it.
“The bicycle storage units are a great new addition to help make cycling to the park even easier.
“Works at the park continue to progress and are due to be completed in the summer.”
The much-loved park has been undergoing a £3million improvement project, with £2.4million of the cash coming from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Other improvement works include building a new Sons of Rest Pavilion within the park.
The new pavilion is being created sensitively to reflect the heritage of the original one, which was built in 1938.
There will be a new cafe within the pavilion, looking out onto a new terrace which overlooks the new ornamental pond.
Other improvements for attracting more wildlife include management of the woodland, installing bat boxes and landscaping, with new flower beds and shrub planting.
