DETAILS of this year’s Bewdley Festival of the Arts have been revealed.

This year’s Festival – which has been running since 1988 – will be a mix of established performers and emerging talent, with events taking place in venues right across the town in October.

Musical highlights include the voice of Squeeze, Glenn Tilbrook, the lead singer of the new wave band Squeeze.

Liza Pulman, part of the satirical comedy trio Fascinating Aïda, will also be performing.

Classical music will be on display from the Carducci Quartet, as well as the Young Pianists of Bewdley.

To get the Festival party started, the Deborah Bonham Band will be performing.

From the world of comedy, Alfie Moore will be returning to the Festival with his popular Radio 4 series, It’s A Fair Cop.

Alistair McGowan will be offering up a night of fabulous fun and music.

The BBC’s Stuart Maconie will be talking about his latest book, which looks behind the scenes of the Beatles.

From the political world, Baroness Natalie Bennett, Green Party member of the House of Lords and sustainability champion, will be giving a talk.

Local artist Claire Spencer, who recently passed away, will be the focus of our month-long Art Exhibition at Bewdley Museum.

Claire’s son Ben Bowling will also be talking about her life and work.
