Kimmy Loves Cake, Bewdley, wins Muddy Stilettos award

A BEWDLEY bakery has taken home the prize in the Muddy Stilettos awards.

Kimmy Loves Cake, on Load Street, won the Artisan Food and Drink Producer prize for the Gloucestershire and Worcestershire edition of the awards.

Kim Hall, who owns the bakery, started as a forensic analyst but in 2011 decided to follow her passion for baking.

Everything is baked fresh each week by Kim with the menu featuring gooey brownies and chocolate chip cookies.

Kimmy Loves Cake started as a takeaway bakery and over six years built up a loyal following.

Kim decided to open a full coffee shop in 2017 and just eight weeks later she had her first baby.

But, realising her heart was not in running a large cafe anymore, Kim went back to her roots and created a mini takeaway cake and coffee shop.

There were 210 finalists in 11 categories from Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.

Although Kimmy Loves Cake was the only winner in Wyre Forest, there were six businesses across Kidderminster, Bewdley and Stourport that were named as finalists.

Hogarths Stone Manor in Kidderminster was named as one of the ten finalists in the running for the Best Afternoon Tea award.

Kidderminster’s Brockencote Hall was up for Best Boutique Stay.

Two Wyre Forest attractions – the Severn Valley Railway and Stourport’s Little Owl Farm Park – were up for the Best Family Experience awards.

And Bewdley’s Mooch Gifts and Home was shortlisted for the Best Fashion and Interiors prize.

The Muddy Stilettos Awards are the UK’s largest reader-voted competition for independent small and medium-sized enterprises.

Hero Brown, founder and editor-in-chief of Muddy Stilettos said: “I set up these awards 13 years ago to give local lifestyle indies a chance to shine.

“It’s been an honour to showcase these most creative, innovative lifestyle businesses across Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.

“The response to this year’s Muddy Awards has been incredible with thousands voting to support an amazing array of local businesses big and small.”
