A UNIQUE charity shop which supports Kidderminster’s KEMP Hospice is celebrating its first anniversary.

The Boutique by KEMP Hospice, a unique style of charity shop on Hagley high street, opened its doors on July 3, 2025, generating more than £3,000 in its first three days.

The store sells carefully curated designer fashion, homeware, gifts and unique finds.

Through customers and donations from across the community, it has generated essential income to help KEMP Hospice support people living with life-limiting illness and bereavement.

Over the past 12 months, the shop has achieved several significant milestones, including selling over 7,529 items with an average customer spend of £18.05.

In addition, there were 243 new Gift Aid registrations, with 56 per cent of items sold eligible to claim Gift Aid.

A team of eight volunteers have worked over 819 hours in the shop.

Gary Barnes, KEMP Hospice’s head of retail, said: “When we opened the shop a year ago, we hoped it would become a valued part of the community.

“The response has exceeded all expectations.

“Every donation made, every item purchased and every hour volunteered has helped us raise vital funds while giving pre-loved items a new lease of life.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us over the past year, and we’re excited to see what we can achieve together in the years head.”
