WYRE Forest District Council has been shortlisted as a finalist at this year’s Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV) Performance awards, writes Elena Pereslucha.
The authority is in the running in the most improved team category across local government services, showcasing the shared aim of providing the best possible experience for residents.
This year saw a record number of entries from councils and organisations, making the team’s achievement even more significant.
It recognises the collective effort of colleagues across Revenue and Customer Services who have teamed up to drive major improvements for residents.
These improvements have strengthened recovery processes, increased work processing speeds, enhanced overall customer journey and built stronger relationships between internal departments and external organisations.
Particular recognition was given to the team’s work in supporting vulnerable residents, ensuring those who needed additional help received the right support at the right time.
Coun David Ross, Wyre Forest District Council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for finance and capital portfolio, said he was very proud the team had been shortlisted for the award, adding being recognised on a national level is a fantastic achievement for the team.
‘’To be named a finalist among a record number of entries is a real testament to the progress the team has made so far.’’
And he said he and the team recognised there were still further improvements which needed to be made.
The focus, he said, would always be on improving services for residents, making it easier for people to access support and ensuring the best possible customer experience was provided.
The winners will be announced later this year at the IRRV Performance Academy ceremony after delivering a presentation to the IRRV judging panel.
