WORLD CHILDREN’S day saw staff and residents at a Kidderminster care home reminiscing about their childhoods.

People from Barchester’s Hollyfields care home enjoyed a teddy bear’s picnic with families and children along with pets.

Celebrated annually on November 20, the day is supported by Unicef, with this years theme being ‘Listen to the Future’ which encourages the world to listen to children’s hopes and dreams and visions for the future.

Children visited residents in their rooms and read them favorite stories and sang lullaby’s.

General Manager Alison Moseley-Shaw said: “Our residents love interacting with children, their absolute favourite thing is when children come to visit.

“It was lovely to see the children and residents interact and talk about their bear friends.

“World Children’s Day is a great way for our residents to reminisce about their childhoods and learn from the next generation.”
