THE HARRIERS were welcomed to Stourport High School and Sixth Form where they used the all-weather pitch after freezing temperatures closed the club’s training grounds.

On November 28, vital pre-match training could take place despite the weather.

Dr Lizzy Ford, interim headteacher, said: “We are all about building and celebrating success so were thrilled to be able to help the Harriers.

“During breaktime, our students were certainly surprised to see the squad training and our year 10 football team had the opportunity to pick up some top tips ahead of their next game.”

Harriers’ manager Phil Brown said the pitch, was the most modern 4G surface the team have played on.

“The school and local community are very lucky to have such a superb facility.

“The weather knocked out our three training grounds at Oldington, Stourbridge and Droitwich, so we were relieved the session could still take place at Stourport High. We hope we can use it again.”

The pitch, made using the latest 4G technology, opened a year ago to support the school’s sporting academy and drive to be a centre of sporting excellence.
