Kidderminster hotel donated hampers to local charity

Holly Clement 7th Dec, 2024

OVER 200 essential items have been donated to people in need from a hotel in Kidderminster.

Brockencote Hall Hotel pledged to donate a festive hamper to The Basement Project every time one of their 21 bedrooms was booked during the Christmas period.

The charity supports under 25s with problems they may be facing, it will now be able to hand out 21 hampers made up of food and toiletries.

The Worcestershire-based charity helps people with a range of issues, from helping to find new accommodation and family mediation, through to advice on managing debt and living on a budget.

Jack Hartshorne, general manager at the hotel said: “Food is a big part of our DNA at Brockencote Hall with our 3 AA rosette Chaddesley Restaurant, and while we are looking forward to welcoming many families this Christmas, we also want to acknowledge that it will also be a tough period for some.

“That’s why we wanted to do our bit by donating essential food items to those who are going through a hard time – and it also gives our customers the knowledge that they haven’t just booked a hotel room, but they are also supporting someone in need too.”

Marina Keegan-Price, operations manager at The Basement Project, added: “We are so grateful to Jack and all at Brockencote Hall for choosing to support us again this year.

“Last year their support helped us to provide 270 Christmas food parcels to the local community, so we are delighted that they are involved again this year.

“This year, in addition to collecting Christmas food items to distribute, we are hoping to raise £10,000 to support local young people experiencing crisis.”
