STUDENTS of all ages are being reminded that Worcestershire’s libraries are the perfect place for them to meet, collaborate, study and ensure they are looking after their wellbeing.
As the new academic year gets into full swing, Worcestershire County Council is urging those starting college or university or undertaking GCSEs or A levels to make the most of these community spaces.
‘Study Happy’ is a programme offered by Worcestershire County Council’s Library Service in partnership with the University of Worcester.
The scheme provides free access to study spaces, computers, WiFi, and valuable academic resources across libraries in the county, offering research, referencing, and information gathering help from the University of Worcester AskALibrarian service.
Studying can be stressful, so eWorcestershire Libraries host regular events designed to help students de-stress and support healthy studying. These include PAT therapy dog sessions, mindful colouring, Lego building, and fruit snacks.
Coun Karen May, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Communities, said: “The Study Happy programme offers a perfect balance of academic resources and mental health support.
“By creating spaces that nurture both study and relaxation, Worcestershire Libraries are giving students the best chance to thrive.”
Ann Jordan, proctor at the University of Worcester, added: “We are thrilled that the Study Happy programme continues to grow and be a valuable resource for students across Worcestershire.”
The Study Happy programme is open to anyone studying for exams across the county and is completely free of charge.
