WITH Christmas day just two days away, there are plenty of festive offerings on the box.
The All Creatures Great and Small seasonal special (9pm, Channel 5) James, Helen and the Skeldale House team (like the rest of us) preparing for a memorable holiday season. But, with the Yorkshire Dales and the famous veterinary practice decked in holiday splendour, the episode is not all plain sailing and there is plenty of dramatic, comedic, poignant and heartwarming moments.
Quiz fans have The Big Quiz – Coronation Street v Emmerdale special (9pm, ITV1) and the festive episode of Would I Lie to You? (7pm, BBC1).
The Big Quiz, hosted by Stephen Mulhern, sees teams from two of the nation’s favourite soaps go head-to-head with plenty of wit, camaraderie and, of course, a chance to showcase of trivia knowledge. There is plenty of light-hearted banter and surprising answers to help wind down before Christmas Eve and Day.
There are some great guests on ‘Would I Lie to You?’. As well as host Rob Brydon and team captains Lee Mack and David Mitchell, we have warmth and, sure to create comical situations, Jimmy Carr, Laura Smyth, Rustie Lee and Lenny Rush, Will you be able to tell who is telling the truth? And, more importantly, will the contestants work it out?
The UK network premiere of The Bullet Train (certificate 15) takes place on Channel 4. The star-studded cast of Joey King, Sandra Bullock and Aaron Taylor-Johnson tell the story of five assassins on-board the swiftly-moving train who all soon realise their missions are remarkably similar. Pitt plays a hapless hitman tasked with retrieving a briefcase on the high-speed train. Arriving on our screens at 9pm, the film offers an adrenaline-packed ride and a thrilling blend of comedy, action, and stylish visuals.
Christmas at Lapland UK – a delightful documentary airing at 8pm on Channel 4 – delves into the enchanting world of one of Britain’s most magical festive experiences.
