Worcestershire County council to lead project developing new volunteer portal

Kidderminster Editorial 24th Sep, 2024

WORCESTERSHIRE County Council is leading a project to develop a new county-wide volunteer portal.

The portal aims to help people find out about what volunteering opportunities are available in Worcestershire.

Two surveys are being carried out to canvass views and feedback from residents who currently volunteer as well as from organisations who use volunteers.

An online location will be available where organisations can advertise – and people can search for – local volunteering opportunities.

The surveys will be available until September, 29.

Coun Karen May, cabinet member for communities for Worcestershire County Council, said: “We are thrilled to be able to make this important investment into volunteer recruitment.

“Volunteering is a great way for people to give back to their communities. It also supports individuals’ health and wellbeing.

“We are hoping to encourage as many people as possible to help us create a portal will work best for them.”
