EXPERT chocolatiers at Cadbury World in Bournville, Birmingham, have unveiled a turkey-tastic culinary creation – a typical Christmas dinner made entirely of chocolate.
The elements that make up the traditional Christmas dinner are often subject to debate, but this feast – made purely of Cadbury chocolate – would be welcome on anyone’s table.
The extensive choccy meal includes an intricately handmade turkey, 13 pigs in blankets, 12 roast potatoes, nine carrots, 11 parsnips, six brussels sprouts, a vegetarian wellington and even chocolate gravy!
The carefully-curated second course has also been included, featuring a Christmas pudding decorated with holly leaves, a gold shimmering pot of brandy butter and mince pies, all topped off with a Christmas cracker.
Every component of the creation, even the table, has been delicately handcrafted from Cadbury chocolate. The masterful chocolatiers carved large blocks of milk chocolate to form the shape of the turkey, which was then perfected with coloured cocoa butter and edible luster.
So how much chocolate does it contain?
The choc-tastic showstopper weighs 30kg – the equivalent of 667 standard Cadbury Dairy Milk bars – and is 70cm wide. With each element intricately handmade, the creation took the masterful chocolatiers at Cadbury World four days to make.
Cadbury World general manager Gerrard Baldwin said: “It’s the most wonderful time of the year… to be at Cadbury World!
“We always set out to create a showstopper creation for the festive season that captures festive fun, and we’re sure this creation will bring a smile to guest’s faces.
“Cadbury has celebrated Christmas for 200 years, and we wanted to showcase the staple Christmas dinner this year.
“I am always amazed by the talent of the chocolatiers here at Cadbury World, the creativity and skill that went into making the terrific turkey is truly unbelievable and never fails to impress me.
“Whatever floats your gravy boat, there’s so much going on here at Cadbury World for Christmas, from our Santa Show to festive afternoon tea, and of course the UK’s biggest Cadbury shop. It really is a magical place to celebrate the festive season!”
