PHIL Brown insists he wants to take Kidderminster Harriers into the Football League after bringing up his one-year anniversary at the club.
Brown took charge at Aggborough in January 2024 with Harriers rooted to the bottom of the National League table.
The campaign ultimately ended in relegation but Brown signed a two-year deal to remain with Harriers.
And at the midway point of the current campaign, Harriers find themselves in the National League North title race and the fifth round of the FA Trophy.
Brown has achieved promotion with Hull City and Southend United during his almost 20-year career in the dugout.
And the 65-year-old holds ambitions of taking Harriers back into the Football League for the first time since the 2004/05 season.
Brown said: “What I’ve learned about myself as a manager is that you have no divine right to be in the Premier League or the National League North.
“Management is management, wherever you find yourself, it’s a case of getting on with it, I’ve learn a lot about myself with regards to relationships with players.
“I’m very close to my group of players here, as close, if not closer than I ever have been, that proximity is key to any relationship, individually and collectively.
“A 12-month anniversary at any football club is a step in the right direction, every club is different and every challenge is different.
“I’ve learnt from every experience and I’m trying to bring that experience to this club and long may the relative success we’re having compared to last season continue.
“We’ve not won anything yet, getting promoted is the main aim, the second priority is a cup run, everybody wants to be in the EFL and that’s what our ambition has to be in a couple of years.”
Kidderminster are next in action against Scarborough Athletic on Tuesday, January 14 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Flamingo Land Stadium.
