KAI Adams scored a last-minute equaliser as Stourport Swifts rescued a late point in a 2-2 draw against Stone Old Alleynians.
Adams earned the visitors a point after Dale Edwards’ goal put Swifts ahead early on at Walshes Meadow.
Both teams finished the game with 10-men after the referee sent off a Stourport player and Stone goalkeeper Raajan Gill deep into injury time following a melee.
The result means Stourport sit 10th in the Midland Football League Premier Division table.
Swifts made the perfect start when Edwards finished off a slick move with the game just three minutes old.
However, Stone equalised on 22 minutes as a Stourport player inadvertently diverted Jack Tomlinson’s attempted cross into his own net.
And the visitors completed the turnaround in first-half injury time after the referee penalised Stourport for handball in the box and Matt Thomas scored from the spot.
However, the home side drew level at the death when Adams smashed home from close range after Gill could only parry an initial shot into the scorer’s path.
Swifts thought they had snatched the points moments later only for the assistant to rule out a late winner for offside.
As a player went to retrieve the ball from the net a melee ensued which resulting in the referee sending off a Stourport player and visiting keeper Gill.
Stourport are next in action against 1874 Northwich on Saturday, February 8 with kick-off at 3pm at Walshes Meadow.
