CHILDREN from Little Trinity Nursery in Kidderminster took part in ‘Time to Talk Day’ as part of Children’s National Mental Health Week, writes Caitlin Valle.

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest conversation about mental health, and it occurred on Thursday (February 6).

The youngsters participated in a range of thought-provoking activities including using puppets to help them express their feelings and emotions.

They also used the worry monster, self regulation and conversation-starter cards, and their special emotions board to help them understand how emotions can affect us, and how they make others feel too.

Nursery manager Gaynor Carter stated: “Time to Talk Day is a wonderful opportunity for children and staff to share their feelings.

“Encouraging children to talk is so beneficial as it helps their personal, social, and emotional growth, as well as their communication skills.

“Talking about feelings ensures we all know help is available, leading to happier lives.

“Just knowing support exists makes a big difference.”

Children’s Mental Health Week began on Monday (February 3) and runs until today (Sunday, February 9).
