ORGANISATIONS have been recognised by the High Sheriff of Worcestershire.
Charles Moyle JP visited several places in North Worcestershire to highlight the work they do for their local communities.
Mr Moyle visited Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest, to find out more about the support and services it offers for the over 50s living in North Worcestershire.
He was accompanied by Bromsgrove District Council leader, Coun Karen May and chairman, Coun Sam Ammar.
During his visit he also heard about the challenges facing local older people and was told about the difference the charity’s work was making.
Catshill Foodbank
The High Sheriff, Coun May and Coun Ammar and Coun Bernard McEldowney, also visited Catshill Baptist Foodbank.

The foodbank is based at Catshill Baptist Church where it has been operating since 2013. During that time it has supported more than 1,100 adults and 700 children following referrals from community partners and agencies, including Bromsgrove District Housing Trust.
Rev Paul Lewis, the church’s associate minister, said: “As a team of volunteers from the church and local community, it was a great encouragement that the time was taken to show interest in the services we provide.
“We were also delighted by the kind gesture of receiving a High Sheriff’s award which will be presented at the end of March.”
The foodbank is supported by grants and donations of food items that are made available to those most in need.
