THE RSPCA has removed 90 horses and two dogs from a farm in Bewdley.

The animal charity was called in by West Mercia Police which received concerns for animal welfare at a site in Northwood Lane.

Following reports, officers attended the farm on Wednesday and the 90 horses were removed on that day and yesterday.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said officers assisted the RSPCA in the removal of around 90 horses from the location in an operation.

“No arrests were made,” they added.

An RSPCA spokesperson told the Standard earlier today: “The RSPCA working in collaboration with other equine charities joined West Mercia Police as they attended an address in the Bewdley area on Wednesday, March 19.

“A number of horses and two dogs were removed.

“As this is an on-going investigation we are unable to release further information at this time.”
