Kidderminster's Millpond House temporary accommodation shortlisted in construction awards

THE NEW temporary accommodation building on Castle Road, Kidderminster has been shortlisted in two categories in the Construction Excellence West Midlands Awards 2025.

Millpond House, developed by Wyre Forest District Council with partners, was officially opened on February 26, 2025. It has now been shortlisted in the the ‘Delivering Value’ and ‘Residential Property of the Year’ sections of the categories.

The temporary accommodation is for people while the council works with them to secure a more permanent housing solution.

The project consists of 20 en-suite rooms, shared kitchen diners, lounge areas and outdoor communal spaces.

Additional facilities include office spaces, on-site parking and extensive landscaping to enhance the environment for residents and staff.

Delighted at recognition

Kate Bailey, Wyre Forest District Council’s Head of Strategic Growth, said: “We are really delighted to be shortlisted for two awards at the Construction Excellence West Midlands Awards.




“It is very rewarding for everyone involved in this project to see their work recognised for the positive impact that Millpond House will make on our community.

“The awards are the biggest and brightest celebration of best practice.


“They recognise commitment to deliver buildings, housing, infrastructure, and facilities of all kinds in a collaborative and sustainable manner.”

The winners of this award will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
