STOURPORT Swifts suffered a 3-1 defeat away at Romulus in their penultimate game of the season.
Swifts trailed by two goals at the break at Coles Lane as Alfie Taylor broke the deadlock when he reacted quickest to turn home a loose ball after Dom Richards parried an initial free-kick.
And the home side doubled their lead on 32 minutes when Sean Devlin finished Taylor’s cross to leave the visitors with a mountain to climb at the interval.
However, Joe Hanson reduced the deficit four minutes after the break to keep Stourport in the contest.
Romulus eventually sealed the points on on 58 minutes as Devlin scored his second of the game after a fine run into the box.
The result means Swifts sit 10th in the Midland Football League Premier Division table with one fixture left to play.
Stourport finish the season away at Uttoxeter Town on Saturday, April 12 with kick-off at 3pm at Oldfields Sports Ground.
