STAFF and students at Hartlebury CE Primary School are celebrating receiving a ‘Good’ grading in all areas from Ofsted, writes Mia Whitehouse.
Inspectors praised the school for its high inclusivity and strong sense of community following the assessment.
Hartlebury CE Primary School sustained the mark for its quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal developments, leadership and management and early years provision.
The Ofsted inspector assured the Severn Academies Education Trust school it was a place where children felt safe, happy and secure, and that expectations of them remained high.
Sophie Bartlett, who has been the school’s headteacher for three years, said: “I am incredibly pleased for our team that Ofsted recognised our many strengths.
“Having worked here for 22 years, I know what a special place this is, how we are at the heart of the community and go the extra mile for all our children.”
It was found by Ofsted that effective action had been taken to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection.
Staff were praised for quickly and accurately identifying pupils with special needs, with individual plans ensuring them access to the same learning as their classmates at an appropriate level of challenge.
The inspectors report said: “The trust works hand-in-hand with the school and governors to provide the best for every pupil.
“Many students reach standards above those expected for their age by the time they leave in year six.”
She highlighted how the school worked with other trust schools to refine and develop its curriculum and, how in a few subjects where there had been recent changes, the impact this had had on its achievement now needed assessing.
