Walk This May into a healthier lifestyle with new campaign across Worcestershire

Sonny Rackham 19th Apr, 2025

WALKING groups across Worcestershire and Herefordshire are collaborating to launch a campaign towards a healthier lifestyle for residents across the regions.

Worcesershire Health Walks and Herefordshire’s Wellbeing Walks groups are encouraging people to get involved in the Walk This May Challenge.

The challenge invites people to see how many times they can collectively walk 53 miles, the length of the border between the two counties.

Whether you’re a seasoned walker or new to physical activity, this challenge is designed to bring people together and promote getting active.

The event runs (from Monday, May 12 to Sunday, May 25) and offers an opportunity to meet new people, increase your physical activity, and reap the numerous health benefits of walking.

Stephen Brewster, Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire CEO said: “We are really excited to offer this new challenge for regular walkers and new joiners this May.

“If you’ve been looking for a new challenge or way to get moving more, we are ready to welcome you.”

The ‘Walk This May Challenge’ is a joint initiative led by Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire, Herefordshire Council, and Worcestershire County Council.

Zoe Clifford, Director of Public Health for Herefordshire Council said: “This month, we’re inviting everyone to take part in our Walk This May Challenge.

“Joining these organised walks is a fantastic way to be active, have fun, and enjoy quality time with friends both old and new.
