A GROUP of 17 young lambs have been stolen from farmland near to Drayton.

The theft occurred overnight between Friday and Saturday.

The animals were only around three weeks old which meant they would have still needed feeding by the ewes.

Police are investigating and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information on suspicious activity in the area to call officers on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Wyre Forest Police said: “It’s highly unlikely that a farmer would move the stock around in hours of darkness or in any vehicle other than an agricultural transport vehicle or stock box.

“Please be vigilant in our rural communities.”
