Worcestershire's youngest pupils secure top choices for primary school

Kidderminster Editorial 21st Apr, 2025

OVER 98 per cent of Worcestershire’s youngest school pupils received an offer from one of their top three choices for primary school or first school, with 94 per cent starting at their first choice this September.

After over 5,693 primary school applications and 2,397 middle school applications to Worcestershire County Council, families received the news of where their children would be going on Wednesday, April 16.

Sarah Wilkins, Assistant Director for Education at Worcestershire County Council, said: “We know that starting school is a big step for both children and their families, and it’s wonderful to see so many receiving a place at one of their preferred schools.

“Our team works hard to make this process as smooth as possible, and we’re delighted to be helping so many young children begin their exciting journey in education.”

Worcestershire’s Libraries will be offering special ‘Get School Ready’ bookbags, with books and advice on starting school inside.

You can view your child’s school place offer by logging into your online account and can visit here: www.worcestershire.gov.uk/admissionappeals to appeal any offers.
