Kidderminster Editorial 18th Apr, 2025

STAND-OUT students at Stourport High School and Sixth Form College were rewarded for their hard work at their annual key stage 4 celebration evening, writes Mia Whitehouse.

Awards were presented to students in years 10 and 11 for a variety achievements, including academic performance, effort, improvement and for those exemplary champions of the school’s values.

In front of a packed audience of parents, staff, and fellow students, citations for each winner were displayed and read out as each accolade was presented.

Dr Lizzy Ford, the headteacher, said: “Behind each award is a story of diligence, desire and effort leading to excellent achievement and success, which we are delighted to recognise and honour. I am, personally, incredibly proud of each one of them and their teachers and pastoral staff, who help and guide them and I am grateful to their parents and families for their support.”

Student of the Year went to Goncalo Anacleto from year 10, for integrating seamlessly into the school community, and Maddy Andrews from year 11, for being an exemplary student and ‘whose infectious ambition to succeed was infectious’.

Head of Year Awards went to Imogen Austin from year 10, and Summer Mound from year 11. Imogen was described as a ‘an exemplary student in every way’ and Summer’s accolade was for demonstrating remarkable tenacity, determination and grit.
