Katie said: “Everyone makes tea differently, but there are some general rules to getting it right.
“So, if you want to impress the tea lovers in your life, here are some expert tips from the team at Yorkshire Tea for making a proper brew.”
Katie’s Tips
1. Always use fresh water
According to Katie, using freshly drawn water is essential. She said: “The oxygen in water helps to bring out the flavour in your tea, so make sure to use fresh water and only boil it once to keep the O2 level up.W
2. Warm up your mug
Tea tastes better when brewed at the right temperature. Katie added: “Don’t let your mug bring the temperature down. Warm it with a splash of hot water before you begin to help your brew reach its full flavour.”
3. Brew for at least four minutes
Patience is key. Katie said tea needed time to unlock all its flavour, so advises people leave the teabag brewing for around four to five minutes. “Trust us, it really makes a difference.”
4. Squeeze gently – and only once
Before removing the teabag, Katie recommends a gentle press. “Squidge it once against the side of the mug — and no more — to avoid a bitter taste.”
She said her tips were guaranteed to improve your brew – whether you are a connoisseur or just someone who enjoys a good cuppa.
“these tips promise to help you brew like a pro.
“However you make your brew, we raise our mugs to you all this National Tea Day.”
