KIDDERMINSTER Harriers will play either Chester or Buxton in the National League North play-offs.
Harriers squandered the chance to win the league title and promotion following a 2-1 defeat at Southport on the final day of the season.
Final day wins for Brackley Town, who clinched the league title and promotion, and Scunthorpe United saw Harriers drop to third in the table.
This means Kidderminster will play either fourth-placed Chester or seventh-placed Buxton at home in the play-off semi-finals.
How the National League North play-offs work
Before the semi-final games take place, two ‘eliminator’ ties will determine the remaining two semi-finalists.
The teams who finished second and third in the table automatically qualify for the semi-finals where they will also have home advantage.
However, to determine the two other semi-finalsists a couple of ‘eliminator’ matches must first take place.
This pits fifth and against sixth – Chorley versus King’s Lynn Town – with the winner to play Scunthorpe.
And fourth against seventh – Chester versus Buxton – with the winner to play Kidderminster.
The two ‘eliminator’ matches take place this midweek.
The semi-finals take place this weekend with Harriers to host either Chester or Buxton on Sunday, May 4 at Aggborough.
And the winners of the semi-finals then advance to the final.
The Promotion Final will be staged at the home ground of the team who finished highest in the league table on the weekend of May 17 and 18.
