A FINE unbeaten half-century from Jack Mills inspired Bewdley CC to a 105-run victory against Bromyard.
Mills finished unbeaten on 53 not out from just 52 balls to propel Bewdley to 216-8 from their overs at Lower Park.
And Bewdley bowled out Bromyard for just 111 in reply to secure a comfortable win.
The result means Bewdley remain top of the Worcestershire County League Division One table.
Bromyard won the toss and elected to field and made early inroads with the ball removing Bewdley openers Nick Wilkinson (6) and Luke Corrigan (5) for single-figure scores.
However, a fine fourth-wicket partnership between Damon Gariff (36) and Michael Harris (34) saw Bewdley recover from 45-3 to 117-4.
The home side suffered another wobble as Gariff’s departure from the crease saw Bewdley lost five wickets for the addition of just 18 runs.
However, Mills and Sam Wilson (26 not out) propelled Bewdley from 135-8 to beyond the 200-run mark from their 50 overs.
And Bewdley made the perfect start with the ball as Michael Hayes (1-17) accounted for Bromyard opener Daud Iqbal (0) with the third ball of the innings.
Only Jack Barrett (23) and Zac Bernard-Pullen (39) managed double figures for the visitors as Bewdley took wickets at regular intervals.
Grant Morris (4-12) starred with the ball and took the final two wickets in consecutive balls while Mills (3-12) also impressed.
Bewdley are next in action against Bartestree and Lugwardine on Saturday, May 3 with the game to start at 12.30pm at Ledbury Road.
