Worcestershire walking group encourages participants to get involved in new spring challenge

Sonny Rackham 7th May, 2025

WALKING groups across Herefordshire and Worcestershire are encouraging people to get involved in a new challenge this spring.

The Walk This May challenge encourages residents to help cover the distance between the two counties by walking 53 miles this month.

The challenge runs from Monday, May 12 to Sunday, May 25, with free, guided walks available across both counties.

Organised by Herefordshire’s Wellbeing Walks groups and Worcestershire Health Walks, the routes are designed to be inclusive and taken at a steady pace over easy ground.

They range from 10 to 90 minutes and are easy to reach on foot or by public transport. Participants can take part in as many walks as they wish to help the groups reach their shared goal.

The Walk This May Challenge is a joint initiative led by Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire, Herefordshire Council, and Worcestershire County Council.
