Fire service dealt with number of outdoor blazes across Stourport over bank holiday weekend

FIREFIGHTERS had to extinguish outdoor blazes over last weekend.

At 11.50pm on Saturday, a crew from Wyre Forest Fire Station attended an incident in Watery Lane, Stourport, where fence panels and a wooden shed were alight.

A water jet was used to put out the fire.

Then at 10.45pm on Monday, there was a fire in the open in Bewdley Road, Stourport.

It broke out in the garden of a property and was extinguished using a bucket of water.

Then around 5am, there was another fire in a garden which spread to a shed and four fence panels The Birches, Stourport,




Firefighters extinguished the flames with two water jets.

Advice offered

The service discourages outdoor fires in rural areas.


Anyone using incinerators, log burners and bonfires should keep them away from fences, foliage, buildings and bushes and always keep buckets of water nearby.
