THE SPLASHPAD at Brinton Park is still out of service due to a major fault in the filtration system.
In the latest update provided by Wyre Forest District Council, it was revealed the issue had been caused by a blockage in the system, which is stopping it from holding the right pressure. As the splashpad uses an automatic safety system, it shuts down when a fault is detected and will not run until the issue is fixed.
The council apologised for the amount of time being taken on the issue and added: “We know how much families enjoy this free space, and we understand how disappointing this is.
“Our team is working hard to repair the problem as quickly and safely as possible, alongside external contractors.
“Once repairs are complete, we’ll need to carry out full safety checks and send water samples for testing before it can reopen.”
Due to the scale of the repairs and the steps that must follow, the splashpad is expected to remain closed for several weeks.
The council added the splashpad was fully serviced and recommissioned including water tests, before opening on May 4.
And the council said: “It had been running in test mode (with sprinklers off) for four weeks before that, to make sure everything was working correctly.
“When the splashpad closed at the end of last season, it was also fully decommissioned in line with safety procedures, rather than simply being switched off.
“We really appreciate your patience and understanding. We’ll keep you updated and look forward to welcoming you back as soon as it’s safe to do so.”
