A WOMAN has died after an altercation yesterday outside the Lidl supermarket in Stourport.
We reported earlier today about the area being cordoned off by police and two people being arrested.
The 62-year-old woman and the 67-year-old man who were held on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following the incident, have been further arrested on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter.
Police say the investigations remain on-going surrounding the circumstances of the incident.
A West Mercia spokesperson added: “We would ask the public to refrain from speculating online and respect her family’s privacy at this difficult time.”
What happened?
The incident happened between 4pm and 8pm yesterday (Wednesday) and it is believed four people in total were involved in the altercation.
After the disagreement, all four left the area.
A 62-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man were later arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody.
The Standard was contacted by readers concerned about the store being cordoned off and the large police presence there.
Officers have appealed to the public for information.
Det Insp Warren Matthews, from north Worcestershire CID, said: “Enquiries are on-going to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and we are keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam footage from Lidl car park.”
