BEWDLEY CC cruised to a 76-run victory away at Hagley to remain top of the Worcestershire County League Division One table.
Bewdley closed on 264-4 at the end of their 50 overs before bowling out the home side for 170 at Hagley Park.
Hagley won the toss and elected to field as Bewdley’s top order piled on the runs.
Both Tom Odell (44) and Jamie Boyle (49) fell agonisingly short of half-centuries after Mahroof Khan (1-30) bowled opener Austin Ball (14) in the seventh over.
However, Rob Combes (62) and Damon Gariff (64 not out) combined well to put on 97 runs for Bewdley’s fourth wicket.
In reply, a middle order partnership between Will Hymer (47) and Mikhil Jain (44) kept the home side in the contest.
However, Bewdley took the final seven wickets for the loss of just 49 runs as Grant Morris (4-49) starred with the ball.
Bewdley are next in action against Droitwich Spa on Saturday, June 7 with the game to start at 12.30pm at Lower Park.
