Tristan Harris 6th Jun, 2025

A CHARITY craft fayre held in Stourport on bank holiday Monday has raised £500 or Amyloidosis UK research.

The event at the Severns Club featured a variety of wares, including R&R Creations, Ray’s Bakehouse, Bewdley Spirits, Dave’s Designs, Wooden and Woolen and Felted Frippery.

Among the hand-made items by talented crafters were upcycled wooden toys and trinkets, 3D printing, upcycled lamps, knitted toys, handmade clocks and pens, felted animals, needlecraft, Macrame, artwork and more Admission to the event was free and there was a tombola to raise funds for Amyloidosis.

Rachel, from Ray’s Bakehouse, said: “The event went really well – we had lots of visitors and lots of really lovely feedback.

“Many said they really enjoyed the range of stalls and how talented and friendly the stallholders were.

“It was a lovely atmosphere at the Severns and with their new menus, visitors got to enjoy a scrummy breakfast or lunch during their visit.”

She added a few people asked what Amyloidosis was, as they had never heard of it, so it was good to raise awareness.

Amyloidosis, which is a group of rare conditions where a protein called amyloid builds up in the body. It can affect organs such as your heart, kidneys, liver, nerves or digestive system. It cannot be cured, but there are treatments that may help with symptoms.

Ray’s Bakehouse, R&R Creations and others among those at the Eco Family Day from 11am to 2pm tomorrow (Saturday, June 7) at the Old Court House in Kidderminster as part of SustFest.
