MORE THAN 200 people attended the SustFest Wyre Forest Eco Family Fun Day at The Old Court in Kidderminster on Saturday.
Wyre Forest District Council thanked everyone for their support, saying the event was ‘filled with creativity, fun and green inspiration’.
Among the highlights were a sustainable fashion show by Arts Etc which featured outfits from recycled materials, such as wool, garden waste and even bin liners.
Irene Winzer wowed the crowd with an outfit made entirely from crisp packets which are notoriously recognised for not decomposing for years.
High Hopes Dog Rescue raised awareness and funds by selling second-hand clothes and accessories, while young entrepreneur Luna Newton showcased her handmade bows and cuddly toys – all made from reused materials.
Crafty by Miles, one of the attendees, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed the day and felt it was a fantastic event.
“We particularly enjoyed the fashion parade – it was a really creative and inspiring addition to the day.
“It was a pleasure to be part of an event focused on sustainability and community, and we appreciated the opportunity to showcase our craft items alongside other local businesses.
“Thank you once again for a well-organised and enjoyable day.
“We look forward to future opportunities to collaborate.”
The district council added: “We’re proud to have hosted such a positive day as part of SustFest Wyre Forest.”
The Eco Family Fun Day was the headline SustFest event for Kidderminster.
