A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of electric vehicle cable theft following a tactical pursuit by roads policing in Kidderminster.
Acting on intelligence, Operational Policing Unit (OPU) officers followed a suspected stolen car at around 11pm on Wednesday (June 11).
The black Renault Megane failed to stop for police and a pursuit was authorised. Just before 1am on Thursday morning, OPU deployed a stinger successfully, however the car attempted to continue at speed.
Officers then used a box tactic to successfully bring the vehicle to a halt. One occupant, believed to be the driver, fled the scene and an investigation has been launched to locate him.
The other occupant, an 18-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of theft of EV cables and has been bailed while enquiries continue.
No-one was injured during the incident, and the black Renault has been seized as part of the investigation.
