THREE fire crews extinguished a severe vehicle blaze on the M5 between Droitwich and Bromsgrove.
The HGV, which had an articulated trailer on it, was on fire on the stretch from Junctions 5 and 4.
The cab unit was well alight and the crews – two from Bromsgrove and one from Droitwich Fire Stations – extinguished the flames using a water jet and compressed air foam system.
The fire had spread to the trailer unit which contained furniture. To put out that fire, crews used a triple extension ladder and water jets.
Three of the four lanes were shut during the incident which took place between around 2pm and 3.40pm yesterday (Tuesday).
