TRIBUTES have been paid to a popular white tiger from West Midlands Safari Park who has died.

Bosses at the park posted the update about the 20-year-old Ben on Facebook on Wednesday.

In the message, accompanied by the picture (above), they said: “For him to reach such a great age shows what excellent care he has received from our veterinary team and keepers.”

They said it started in 2022 when a malignant melanoma was found on his right eyelid, which meant that this, along with his eye, were removed.

“Despite this, he made a fantastic recovery and was a well-known character with all our guests.”

The post added of late he had slowed down and ‘age-related health issues’ caught up with him.

“He will be deeply missed by all who have cared for him over the years.

“We would love for you to share your photos of him below, in his memory.”

This prompted more than 4,700 reactions, the post was shared 215 times and there were almost 500 comments as people flocked to share their memories and their pictures and videos of Ben.
