Kidderminster and Wyre Forest Veterans Breakfast Club thanks the community for its support

Kidderminster Editorial 12 hours ago

KIDDERMINSTER veteran Steven Walker and his dedicated family want to thank the local community for supporting their fundraising for veteran charity groups around the area, writes Lola Griffin.

Vets eVenTS is a part of the Kidderminster and Wyre Forest Veterans Breakfast Club which meets every Saturday at Larchwood Farm, Silverwoods Way in Kidderminster.

Mr Walker, who is supported by his dedicated family – including Deborah, Sophie and Shayne – said he was delighted with the support that has been provided so far from local residents and gave his thanks to Forces Support charity shop in Worcester Street.

The shop, which is open everyday except Sundays from 8.30am to 4.30pm, is a military bereavement charity which pledges not to forget fallen heroes or their families.

Mr Walker said the shop manager there had been extremely supportive and donated prizes, including cuddly toys for the tombolas at events.

Among them are The Barrington Bash which Coun Fran Oborski MBE and Coun Adrian Beavis, chair of Kidderminster RBL, attended, along with the Far Forest Car Boot. The Walker family was also at Bewdley Carnival last weekend, spreading the word and raising funds.

Everyone is welcome to the Kidderminster and Wyre Forest Veterans Breakfast Club to talk to the empowering members to improve mental health and wellbeing.

The Wheely Different Theatre Company (WDTC) recognises the work of the group and all the work it does to put on shows or events in the community.
