MEMBERS of Kidderminster’s first ever speedwatch group met last Friday.
The Sutton Farm Community Speedwatch is a volunteer scheme operating with the support of West Mercia Police to encourage motorists to drive safely and within the speed limit.
The enthusiastic group is addressing speeding concerns on Bewdley Hill and Sutton Road.
Coun Vicky Caulfield, who represents the area on Wyre Forest District Council and helped set it up, said: “Residents often contact me with concerns around speeding on these roads, so I’m really pleased that, thanks to the police and our group of volunteers, we are able to do something about it.
“We aren’t here to catch anyone out – it’s all about raising awareness and making our roads safer for everyone.”
