EMPLOYEES from Platform Housing Group has been taking part in voluntary environmental activities in Kidderminster, writes Jeanna Karcz.

The work was part of the company’s ongoing Communities Connected campaign.

Platform staff and customers collaborated for two days of environmental action at Bradley Thursfield Court and nearby Mill Street as part of the drive.

Volunteers joined in with a large scale litter-picking across both locations.

The local Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator and other residents were also involved in plans for the area, with one resident, Frank, sharing his idea to transform scrubland sections into spaces to grow vegetables and other plants.

Nicholas Richardson, community engagement officer at Platform Housing Group and organiser of the events, said: “We are so proud of the work that has taken place in Kidderminster.

“By working in a partnership with our customers, we’re not only tackling environmental issues but also building stronger relationships and promoting positive mental and physical wellbeing.

“When people feel a sense of belonging, it leads to stronger, more connected communities.”

The Communities Connected programme continues to run events across the region, making a positive difference in local areas and building deeper community ties.
