THERE was a musical triumph for students at Kidderminster’s Holy Trinity School and Sixth Form as 27 of them excelled in their Music Medal Exams.
This cohort of 27 students aged seven to 10 years old achieved unprecedented success in their Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music Copper and Bronze Music Medal Exams.
The school’s head of music, Sarah Paterson, said: “All the children put themselves forward for these external exams, showing tremendous intrinsic motivation and commitment.
“There is a fabulous positive peer pressure in the music department and a tradition of quality recorder playing, with students actively seeking to make music with their friends.”
Holy Trinity students enjoy an indulging music curriculum adapted to each student, which helps to build resilience, perseverance, and endurance for life beyond the classroom.
Ms Paterson added: “It is well known that music offers a wide array of benefits for physical and mental wellbeing, impacting mood, cognitive function and even physical health.
“It is of course a powerful tool for emotional expression and social connection which is plainly evident among these talented students.”
