LEGO enthusiasts are in for a choo-tastic treat as Brick Weekend propels its way into the Severn Valley Railway’s Engine House Visitor Centre, writes Rafi Khan.
The stunning venue has partnered with the Lego UK Railway club, the largest and most active locomotive building club in the country.
The group says its aim is to showcase its custom Lego locomotives and using the bricks to build trains as a hobby.
The highly-anticipated ‘Brick Weekend’ at the SVR on August 2 and 3 will be awash with passionate amateur creators.
There will also be steam and heritage diesel services running on the SVR that weekend which is perfect for people of all ages and Lego enthusiasts.
The Engine House in Highley is accessible by train from either Kidderminster or Bridgnorth.
Visitors are encouraged to hop on and off the train, stopping at stations along the line to allow them to soak in everything the railway has to offer.
Guests can count on seeing detailed Lego railway layouts.
The SVR’s visitor engagement manager Lewis Maddox said: “There’s a specially themed Thomas and Friends section, and a range of interactive experiences that will delight young minds.”
Children can take part in creative puzzles or enter a fun-filled Minifigure Hunt and try their hand at robot battling in a mini area.
The event runs from 10.45am to 4pm on both days, with the last entry at 4pm.
