OFFICERS in Kidderminster were tasked with a tricky bovine mission when a cow was found wandering along a road near the town’s police station.
The Safer Neighbourhood Team posted these pictures and a video on the Wyre Forest Police Facebook page, along with some creative comical commentary, which included them telling the animal to ‘Moo-ve along’.
They said they had ‘herd’ about the stray calf being on the loose on Cedar Drive after it was spotted trotting along the main road.
They added: “So we hoofed it to the scene to make sure it was safe and not posing a hazard to road users.
“We were quickly on the tail of our bovine buddy, but there was no need to take her into custard-y or answer ‘bale’.
“Instead, SNT officers rang around local farmers to safely reunite her with her owners in a cow-ordinated effort between police and the public.
“We are udder-ly delighted the situation was resolved without any injuries to calf or members of the public and she was moo-ved on to pastures new.”
This video captures the moment two PCSOs, members of the public, a wildlife officer and some off-duty officers helped Norman and Andrew Penny get the cow safely aboard her transport home.
