With autumn in full swing, pumpkin picking is a perfect family activity.

If you’re in Kidderminster or nearby, there are plenty of local farms offering the opportunity to pick your own pumpkins and enjoy a day out in the countryside. Here are five great places to visit:

1. Stanley’s Farm Shop

Located near Chaddesley Corbett DY10 4NF, Stanley’s Farm Shop is a family-run farm set across 250 acres.




Visitors can pick their own pumpkins throughout the week during shop hours.

After strolling through the pumpkin fields, you can warm up at the farm’s caboose with hot pastries, coffee, hot chocolate, and homemade cakes. Stanley’s offers a wholesome day out for all ages.


2. Severn Valley Cottage

At Severn Valley Cottage, not only can you pick your perfect pumpkin, but you can also head to the onsite pumpkin carving station to get started on your Halloween decorations.

Families will love the pumpkin trail packed with Halloween-themed goodies, and there’s a small funfair on weekends.

Open every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm, the pumpkin patch is located in Bewdley DY12 1SU.

Don’t forget, dogs are welcome too, but they must be kept on a lead.

3. Little Owl Farm

If you’re eager to get your pumpkin before the half-term rush, Little Owl Farm is the place to go.

With pumpkin picking weekends running up until October 26, it’s ideal for those wanting to plan early.

The farm is located at Dunhampton DY13 9SS, and offers a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere for a fun pumpkin-picking adventure.

4. Bells Farm Shop

Bells Farm Shop in Stourport DY13 9SA, offers a wide selection of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes.

The farm also hosts a daily fancy dress competition at 2pm, perfect for getting the kids into the Halloween spirit.

There’s fun for all ages with rides for under-10s on the Chair ‘o’ Plane, and visitors can enter a photo competition by sharing their best pumpkin snaps on the farm’s Instagram page.

The lucky winner gets a box of 12 homemade cupcakes from the farm shop.

5. Kinver Edge Farm Shop

For those seeking a full autumnal experience, Kinver Edge Farm Shop has pumpkins ready to pick and a Maize Maze for an extra bit of family fun.

The farm is located in Stourbridge DY7 6HX and doesn’t require booking ahead.

All produce in the shop is either homegrown or locally sourced, so you can pick up some fresh goodies while you’re there.
