A KIDDERMINSTER school is celebrating a new addition to their campus for this academic year – state of the art permanent classrooms.

The impressive new extension, featuring six modern classrooms, three versatile group rooms, and two floors of innovative learning spaces, is already making a significant impact for pupils in years four, five and six.

The children are thrilled to be learning in the brand new areas which have seamlessly integrated with the main school, enhancing their educational experience.

And the pupils have been very enthusiastic about the new classrooms.

Darcey, who is in year five, said: “It’s so nice to have new classrooms and be part of the main school.

“We love being upstairs as we have so much room and it feels more grown up.”

While Olivia in year four added: “It’s perfect! Our new school building has so much more space.

“It’s a really big change and we are so happy learning in here.”

And Oaklyn said: “We love it – it feels so much bigger and smells so new.

“The views from the top floor are great – it’s like we are learning from the treetops.”

Worcestershire County Council provided just under £2.1million of capital grant funding to cover the cost of the project and building work was carried out by building contractor Leon’s Building Services.

Coun David Chambers, Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member for education, said: “Seeing the new facility up and running is truly wonderful and the positive impact it’s already having on their students is clear.

“We believe that quality school facilities are essential for children’s learning and development, and we are committed to ensuring that our students have the best environment to reach their full potential.”

Comberton’s headteacher Deena Frost added: “We are thrilled to welcome our students into these fantastic new spaces.

“The new classrooms are more than just buildings – they represent a significant step forward in providing our children with the best possible learning environment.”

The school is looking forward to showcasing the new spaces to prospective families at an open day on October 3.

Ms Frost said: “It’s a great opportunity for parents to see the improvements first-hand and consider what we have to offer for children starting school in September 2025.”

The final touches to the landscaping around the new extension will be completed in October, ahead of an official opening later this year.
