Work at Kidderminster's Habberley Valley Nature Reserve postponed due to icy conditions

Tristan Harris 8th Jan, 2026

WORK on a Habberley Valley Nature Reserve in Kidderminster which was due to take place this week was postponed due to the icy weather conditions.

The site was going to be shut to the public on yesterday and today (Thursday) while the main entrance track was resurfaced.

But cold temperatures affect the road surfacing materials and prevent them from bonding properly which would have resulted in poor quality repair.

A Wyre Forest District Council spokesperson said: “We’ll reschedule the works for when conditions are more suitable to ensure a long-lasting, safe road surface.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and will share the new dates as soon as they’re confirmed.”

The authority said it knew Habberley Valley was a much-loved local spot and was addressing those troublesome potholes along the tarmac section between the main road and visitor car park to

provide visitors with a smoother, safer experience all year round.
