BEWDLEY Town lost 3-1 against Pershore Town to exit the Worcestershire Senior Cup at the first round stage.

The home side levelled the game from the penalty spot courtesy of Mike Bridges only for the visitors to seal victory with a pair of second-half goals at Ribbesford Meadows.

Pershore took the lead when James Baldwin headed home from three-yards out after Ben Tilbury flicked on Bailey Fuller’s corner at the near post.

However, Bewdley equalised when Scott Loader committed a foul in the box and Bridges stepped up to bring the home side level.

The Plums reclaimed the lead after the break as Tilbury headed home Taylor Eades’ cross from the right.

And Tilbury grabbed his second of the game from the penalty spot to settle the tie after Aidan Clark drew a foul in the box.

Bewdley are next in action against Carterton in the Marsh Challenge Cup on Saturday, October 26 with kick-off at 3pm at Swinbrook Road.
