RESIDENTS across Wyre Forest have expressed concerns about postal deliveries with some saying they have not had any for weeks.
It echoes the situation in towns across Worcestershire, including Bromsgrove, Redditch and Malvern – some said they had not had post for ages while others said weeks went by and then they would get a ‘job lot’ of six or seven letters.
We asked the question on our Kidderminster Standard Facebook page and received several responses regarding deliveries in the town, along with Bewdley and Stourport.
Nina Haycox from Wribbenhall said she had not received any post for weeks.
Julia Richards from Bewdley added: “Had no post at all last week, had a few letters today (January 20) but not the magazine which should have been delivered last Tuesday.
“A credit card bill arrived today which was posted on January 6.”
Another Bewdley resident said January 19 was the first time they had received post since the new year.
And David Sabel from Kidderminster added: “We had no post for two weeks and then had 16 letters in one go.”
Glenys Bishop said: “We had a pile delivered on Monday – some which were dated January 6.”
Lisa Ward, also from Kidderminster, said: “We’ve had one delivery for letters since before Christmas.”
And another said they had not received any post
Alec James added: “Yes post has been in batches – only two deliveries so far in January and both had around 10 letters each.”
Another person said her because of the delay in her phone bill getting to her, she was charged £15 for a late payment.

David Hazeldine said: “We have had no delivery of mail for about a month.
“Just hoping we have not missed some of our appointments.”
A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “We know how important timely letters are and want to reassure customers the vast majority of mail continues to be delivered on time.
“However, there have been short-term pressures affecting certain routes.
“The festive period is our busiest time of year, with volumes more than doubling, followed by poor weather earlier this month which affected some deliveries.
“We’re working to ensure all routes receive a reliable and consistent service as quickly as possible.”
